Football! Beer! And no lines!

Absolutely, we planned ahead! Yes sir and ma’am, we are aware there will be football the day of the 150th, so rest assured you can watch TWO TV’S IN THE BEER STAND to keep up on the college games. PRO TIP #1: hook your kiddos up with wristbands EARLY to skip the lines (see below) and send them off to do stuff while you get down to business with football and beers. PRO TIP #2: hook yourself up with drink tickets EARLY as well. They’ll be on sale Monday and Tuesday, August 30 & 31, at City Hall from 4-7pm.

Cash Raffle!

It’s like free money, only way better, because really, when you win big, Arcadia wins bigger. There are 14 cash prizes, including a BIG ONE for one thousand buckaroos. Stop in at City Hall or Arcadia Meats where tickets are $10 each or 11 for $100. The drawing takes place Saturday the 4th, during the celebration, at 8:30p.m. and remember – NEED NOT BE PRESENT TO WIN!!

Caricatures, balloons, & chain saws!

How about adding some culture to your life? You won’t want to miss our artists. Caricature artist Mike Roate will certainly cast you in a better light (like our esteemed mayor here.) There will be balloon art for the kids. And if that’s all too tame for you, the 150th will also feature Jeff Klatt with Runaway Chain Saws, where we highly recommend you don’t touch the art (carvings of Iowa State, Iowa, and an Eagle!) while it’s being made.

Wristbands!

Kids ages 2 and up will need wristbands for their activities including barrel rides, putt-putt golf, inflatables, face painting, petting zoo, and balloon artist. Buy them now and skip the line the day of the celebration! Price is $10 each at The Shop, Arcadia Meats, Robin’s Salon, Arcadia City Hall, and The Observer in Westside.

Free bikes!

And speaking of kids, a couple of lucky 12-and-unders will be winning some bikes. All you have to do is get them signed up at the ticket booth the day of. Look at that grin! We can’t wait to hand them off to some lucky youngsters.

Ride the Huey!

Through special arrangements with the Friends of Army Aviation, you can have your very own helicopter ride for a birds-eye view of Arcadia. Click here for details and to pre-order your tickets.
